Mensa is an international association for gifted people, with more than 100,000 members. Mensa brings together highly intelligent people at local, national and international meetings.

Mensa members come from all layers of the population and from nearly every profession. What Mensans almost all have in common is the desire to make contact with other active "thinkers" - in person or online - and together enjoy the most diverse interests and hobbies. Most Mensans are open to make new friends and broaden their horizons. The atmosphere at meetings is also warm and cozy!

Mensa is an international society in which the sole criterion for membership is a score above the 98th percentile on any of a number of standardised supervised admission tests.

Mensa has three stated purposes:

  • to identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity,
  • to encourage research in the nature, characteristics and uses of intelligence,and
  • to promote stimulating intellectual and social opportunities for its members.
